Riffing on the success of tennis-centric movie Challengers, France’s Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc has launched a capsule collection of tennis apparel with Lacoste.

According to a recent report in The Times, Anne Keothavong, who captains Britain’s team in the Billie Jean King Cup, says that top-flight tennis has received a “Zendaya bounce” in popularity in the weeks before Wimbledon thanks to the success of the actor’s role in the Challengers film.

Tapping into the “Racketeering” trend (a term coined by Globetrender to describe the rise in popularity of racket sports such as tennis, padel and pickleball), the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc, in Cap d’Antibes has unveiled a new limited-edition range of tennis apparel in partnership with French luxury sports fashion company Lacoste.

Part of the prestigious Oetker Collection, Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc has five clay tennis courts but is now taking its game to the next level with a co-branded collection of sportwear in Lacoste piqué cotton and tennis accessories encompassing trainers, rackets, towels, sports bags, leather goods and eyewear, all in Lacoste’s signature green, white and blue.

On the tennis court and throughout the property, Lacoste sports accoutrements also include referee chairs and parasols, shelters, tennis balls, benches and cushions, and branded window presentations in Lacoste green.

To celebrate the launch of the collection, Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc recently hosted an intimate event with none other than Venus Williams, a global tennis icon and ambassador of Lacoste.

The Eden-Roc x Lacoste capsule collection is now available to purchase exclusively at the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc boutique, another examples of Globetrender’s “Shoppable Stays” trend.
