The new app by Eater lets users search, book and save recommended restaurants by cuisine, dish or location in more than 100 international destinations.

Eater, the restaurant recommendation platform, has unveiled its first-ever mobile app, allowing foodies to find the sites two decades worth of recommendations all in one place.

The Eater app, now available for free on iOS, puts users at the centre of a vast culinary landscape. With over 10,000 editor-curated maps covering more than 100 cities worldwide, the app offers an unprecedented tool for discovering restaurants, searching by cuisine or dish, and even booking tables with just a few taps.

“The Eater app is the number one request we’ve gotten from readers over the years,” says Stephanie Wu, editor-in-chief. “Our new app helps diners find great meals around the world while showcasing the breadth of Eater’s expertise.”

A collaboration with Capital One Dining and powered by SevenRooms, the app integrates multiple reservation platforms for seamless booking.

Eligible Capital One customers can access prime-time reservations, while all users can explore and book editor-approved restaurants, including unique dining experiences at SevenRooms partner establishments.

Monica Weaver, head of branded card partnerships and experiences at Capital One, says: “We’re teaming up with a trusted expert in the industry like Eater to help [our cardholders] experience the best of dining.”

Joel Montaniel, CEO & co-founder at SevenRooms, highlighted the transformative potential of the partnership: “Eater’s influence provides restaurants with unparalelled visibility, unlocking a premium marketing channel to a passionate, high-value diner segment.”

The app allows users to:

  • Browse restaurants by location
  • Search by cuisine or specific dishes
  • Book reservations directly through the app
  • Create profiles and save favourite places
  • Access detailed information about recommended restaurants

These recommendations span a wide range of cuisines and price points, from Michelin-starred fine dining to beloved neighbourhood spots and pastry shops.

As Eater continues to build on its mantra “You are where you eat,” the company plans to introduce new features based on user feedback.

The Eater app is currently available for download in the App Store, with potential expansions to other platforms in the future.
