Major summer holiday destinations see shake-up as Tenerife falls from top spot and Costa Blanca emerges as a surprise second favourite, new data reveals.
Majorca is poised to become Britain's most popular summer holiday destination for 2025, as Tenerife's two-year reign at the top appears to be ending, according to new booking data from TravelSupermarket.
The Balearic island currently leads early bookings for summer 2025, a ranking that appears to defy the unrest observed on the island in 2024 as locals gathered to protest against overtourism.
Tenerife has dropped to fourth place and Spain's Costa Blanca has emerged as a surprise second favourite, jumping four places from its 2024 position.
Turkey's Antalya region continues its steady rise in popularity, moving up to third place, while its coastal resort area of Dalaman has slipped from fourth to sixth position.
Cyprus has made a notable comeback, reaching fifth place after falling out of the top 10 last summer. Rhodes has also shown strong performance, climbing three places to seventh compared to summer 2024.
The remaining popular destinations include the Algarve, Costa del Sol, and Lanzarote, which have all seen slight drops in their rankings, falling to eighth, ninth and tenth respectively.
TravelSupermarket's data compares early booking trends for the summers of 2023, 2024 and 2025, tracking shifts in British holiday preferences.
