Park Hall Resort & Spa in Lancashire has become the first hotel in the UK to implement an AI concierge system that communicates with guests via telephone and WhatsApp.

Lancashire's Park Hall Resort & Spa, operated by the Brilliant Hotels Collection, has partnered with UK-based technology company Inntelo AI to enhance guest experiences and streamline daily operations through its artificial intelligence solution.

The AI concierge operates alongside human staff, answering guest enquiries and managing tasks 24 hours a day in multiple languages. Guests can access services, make requests, or resolve issues through WhatsApp messages or phone calls that are initially handled by the AI system.

Park Hall Resort & Spa occupies a site with significant history, originally home to a Benedictine monastery dating back to 669 AD. The property, now a Radisson Individuals hotel, has previously hosted well-known entertainers such as Tommy Cooper, Bruce Forsyth and Lulu.

Anoob Saban, owner of Brilliant Hotels Collection, says: "We've invested significantly in renovating the property, but with rising costs, it's more important than ever to embrace efficient and guest-friendly innovations. Traditional hotel tech – phones, apps, and complicated room systems – can be annoying and frustrating for guests.

"By partnering with Inntelo AI, we're eliminating these pain points, improving operational efficiency, and enhancing the overall guest experience. We're excited to work with Inntelo AI to deliver a seamless and modern hospitality experience for our guests."

Inntelo AI has been expanding rapidly following testing and financial backing from Antler, described as the most active early-stage venture capital firm in Europe. Beyond the UK implementation at Park Hall, the company has recently deployed its technology in hotels in the Netherlands and Portugal.

The AI firm is also working with leading hospitality education institutions, including Switzerland's EHL, Hotelschool The Hague, and the University of Essex's Edge Hotel School, to build confidence in AI usage among future hospitality professionals.

Asif Alidina, founder and CEO of Inntelo AI, says: "AI has reached a level where it can communicate naturally with us – through phone calls and WhatsApp – without needing buttons, apps, or complex systems. That shift is a game-changer for hospitality, where efficiency and seamless communication are essential.

"With labour costs rising following last year's Autumn Budget, hotels today are under increasing pressure to operate more efficiently while meeting rising guest expectations. AI technology isn't just an option – it's becoming a necessity."

Alidina adds that the technology helps guests receive instant service for requests ranging from room service orders to local recommendations, while freeing hotel staff from administrative tasks to focus on creating exceptional guest experiences.

Park Hall Resort & Spa has recently undergone a multi-million-pound refurbishment, including the addition of a new spa and the Signature Grill House. Located outside Chorley and surrounded by a lake and woodland, the luxury resort offers accommodation, spa and fitness facilities, dining options, and serves as a wedding venue.

According to Inntelo, the company remains committed to ensuring new AI technologies enhance rather than replace the human element in hospitality while creating more enjoyable working conditions for hotel staff.
