Canadian airline Air Transat is celebrating 20 years of marriage equality in Canada by offering visitors a limited-time discount to experience the destination first-hand.
With promo code BESF3UK20, UK travellers can enjoy 20% off direct flights from London Gatwick, Manchester and Glasgow to Toronto, when booked between March 28 and April 1, 2025.
The offer is valid for both Economy Class and Club Class, for travel between April 22 and October 31, 2025. For more information or to take advantage of the limited-time offer, visit the Air Transat website.
“With its inclusive spirit and open-mindedness, Toronto stands out as one of the most LGBTQ+ friendly cities in Canada. We’re thrilled to encourage visitors to discover this diverse city to explore the arts, culture, and nightlife that it has to offer,” says Clare McPherson, marketing manager for UK and Ireland at Air Transat.
On July 20, 2005, Canada became the first country outside of Europe (fourth in the world) to legally recognise same sex marriage nationally with the enactment of the Civil Marriage Act.
Canada has long been hailed as a progressive and welcoming society and this week Lonely Planet revealed it as one of the most queer-friendly destinations in the world in its first dedicated LGBTQ+ Travel Guide, published this month. Four Canadian hot spots have been recommended in the travel expert’s top 50 worldwide destinations: Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver and Banff.
Air Transat has been voted World’s Best Leisure Airline 2024 by Skytrax for the sixth time and is highly regarded for its friendly, inclusive service.
